CTG is seeking a Technical Engineer III for our client to support enterprise infrastructure, identity services, and automation initiatives within a large-scale regulated environment.

 

Location: Buffalo, NY

Overview

This role serves as an advanced infrastructure technologist responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level technology solutions. The Technical Engineer III will partner with senior engineering teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant systems aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions across identity, systems, and security platforms
  • Work with senior engineers and technology leadership to develop scalable architecture and technical standards
  • Support Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID environments
  • Drive patch management strategy and automation initiatives
  • Manage and support proxy services, file systems, GPO, and SIEM integrations
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans
  • Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with vendors and coordinate external technical resources
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and operational procedures
  • Ensure compliance with security, risk, and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Participate in audit remediation and internal control adherence

Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 years combined education and/or experience in systems engineering, architecture, or infrastructure roles
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Experience with enterprise patching, automation, and infrastructure support
  • Strong background in enterprise systems, troubleshooting, and integration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years in infrastructure engineering or systems architecture roles
  • Advanced troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments (financial services preferred)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of server, client, and virtualized infrastructure environments
