YourRole

As a Gensler Designer with our team in Tampa, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions and coordinate design through the construction documentation and administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do

  • Collaborate on interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedules

  • Design and deliver functional and beautiful workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms, Professional Services Firms, and many other types of organizations

  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and decorative lighting

  • Generate concepts for finish plans, RCP, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork for the project

  • Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants

  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

  • Maintain project manual and specifications

  • Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction

  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience with interior architecture / interior design, inclusive of 1+ years of workplace/office space interior design (please highlight this experience in your portfolio and/or resume)

  • Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD

  • Proficiency with 3-D, Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino or other visualization software is preferred

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX is a plus

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures

  • Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus

  • Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction

  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills

  • Licensed Architect and/or NCIDQ certification are strongly preferred

  • LEED accreditation is a plus

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; If possible, portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
