Job Title: Technical Assistant

Location: Metro Technology Centers, South Bryant Campus

Salary Structure: $19.00+/hr. Base

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:15-3:15pm (35 hours/week)

Position Contract: 10-Month, Non-Exempt, Support Staff

General Description:

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Technical Assistant who will be responsible for assisting students in the classroom under the general direction of the classroom teacher(s) by providing supplementary instruction and guided hands-on learning experiences. Duties may vary depending upon individual and school situations.

General Qualification Requirements:

Representative Duties:

  • Assists students in the classroom/shop under the general direction of the program instructor(s).
  • Tutors' students individually and in small groups. Selects materials appropriate for tutorial activities.
  • Guides hands-on practice of students.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services.
  • Assists faculty with grading, completing required forms and maintaining requested records.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory control records.
  • Assists in the operation and care of equipment and materials used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
  • Assists in maintaining facilities, organization, and ensuring a tidy environment.
  • Substitutes for classes/programs as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree
  • Three (3) years relevant experience in area relevant to work assignment.
  • Preferred not required: Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to disseminate information, instruct, plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to observe, recognize and interpret.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance.

Reports to: Immediate supervision is given by Faculty; General direction is given by Site Director.
