Technical Assistant - Chemistry (PT)

Location: Utica, NY
Job Type: Part-Time, 12-Month

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Technical Assistant in our School of STEM-Transfer. The Technical Assistant provides skilled assistance to faculty, professional, or administrative staff in Chemistry. The work is performed under general supervision.

Key responsibilities for this position includes:

  • Assists the faculty by ensuring adherence to proper safety protocols;
  • Maintains material inventories;
  • Cleans and organizes laboratory spaces;
  • Prepares solutions using proper laboratory techniques;
  • Prepares materials for student learning experiences;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: The hours for this position will be dependent on the needs of the department and the availability of the successful candidate.

Hours per week: up to 20

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or 60 credit hours completed
  • Experience preparing quantitative chemical solutions
