Position Summary:
FSI Depot Service Facility located in West Columbia, South Carolina is seeking an experienced Depot Repair Technician that possesses strong technical skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong computer and communication skills.

Depot Repair Technicians troubleshoot, calibration, and repair radiation measurement and protection instruments down to board/detector levels with occasionally component level troubleshooting. Duties also include performing instrument calibrations (via software driven or manually driven programs) as well as providing technical support via the phone to customers. In times of diminished workloads, support in site administrative tasks may be assigned to help support site business objectives with applicable cross-training provided.

Primary Responsibilities but are not limited to:

" Responsible for testing and troubleshooting portable instruments and sub-assemblies.
" Perform instrument calibrations and repairs.
" Collect and report on failures and enter such data on repair worksheets, calibration certificates/test reports and into the service data collection computer system.
" Communicate with customers on the details of instrument failures and the repairs needed to return the instrumentation to manufacturer specifications for operation.
" Obtain customer approval of work performed upon completion
" Complete and maintain accurate and traceable service records to include documentation of inventory used
" Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest changes to make processes and/or procedure more efficient.
" Provide internal and external customers with technical support via the phone (as needed).
" Report results of any non-conformances or issues found to site Quality and/or Site Management for escalation


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

" Proficiency in systems and board level electronic and mechanical troubleshooting
" High level of computer skills including operating systems such as: MS Access, Excel, Word and Outlook, Sales Programs such as Salesforce, and ERP/Inventory systems such as Infor-XA Powerlink
" Ability to troubleshoot complex systems by phone and clearly communicate with customers and the company's personnel
" Capable of portraying a professional and friendly image to the customer via telephone or in person
" Ability to deal with a broad range of internal and external customers
" Exceptional customer skills
" Desire to work in a fast-paced service environment with up to a moderate level of stress
" Candidate must be self-motivated, capable of working independently or with other employees and possess a strong work ethic
" Consistently drives for process improvement
" Experienced in instrumentation service and applications
" Willing to perform other tasks as necessary to meet site level business objectives
" Ability and willingness to work up to 4 hours overtime weekly to meet business demand in times of high service input. (OT's are only after training. Not every week, but as needed.)
" May lift up to 30-40 lbs.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

" Electronics Certification, Associate of Science- technical degree, equivalent Military Training, or equivalent workforce experience
" Candidate must be proficient in the use and navigation of a computer, utilizing various programs, operations systems, and software programs as well as basic computer operations such as saving files
" Can efficiently demonstrate use and operation of a high voltage probe, digital multimeter, and also has experience with soldering
" Can follow written instructions in the form of process and procedural documentation, ability to read wiring diagrams is also preferred
" Minimum of 1-3 years' Service Repair experience (strongly preferred or equivalent educational background)
" Works with a safety focused mindset
" Strong communication skills for both internal and external communications to ensure a service compliance (verbal and written)
" Willingness to meets or exceeds quality and quantity standards/targets to support the site in meeting business objectives
" Capable of maintaining 5S of individual and common-shared work areas
" Capable of passing all preliminary/pre-hire and post hire background screenings as required to meet site level regulatory requirements for access
