As a Technical Specialist I, you’ll provide support to maintain infrastructure and install / troubleshoot hardware and software in facilities companywide. You’ll also provide technical support for Field Techs. What is the work?
Information Technology / Troubleshooting
Receives / assesses / prioritizes / investigates / resolves / tracks trouble tickets related to LAN/WAN equipment, PCs, laptops, point of sale (POS) equipment, voice / data communications, iOS Devices, etc.
Provides services on infrastructure / system design, configuration, and support; applies understanding of how hardware / software components deliver H-E-B infrastructure strategy.
Installs / troubleshoots / documents / supports one or more hardware or software technologies that comprise H-EB’s infrastructure with guidance and supervision by more senior Partners.
Works with vendors to support installation / troubleshooting / support of H-E-B infrastructure.
Provides on-call / after-hours support for one or more infrastructure technologies.
Collaborates cross-functionally to review blueprints / create orders for F&E Team to process for new facility builds, remodels, curb sides, feces, and Clinics.
Documents / trains on new hardware and software systems
Works with Innovations Team to install / test new hardware and software.
Supports various projects and rollouts, tracks time and projects via software.
Manages department requests for change (RFC)
Applies knowledge to begin contributing to system design, configuration, and support of the following areas.
Hardware
Supports MDF relocations and ground
-up build from MDF, including network / server infrastructure, structured cabling, and WAN services.
Works cross-functionally to ensure changes are complete (e.g., power, data, installations, removals)
New concepts / innovations
Network (including wireless) infrastructure.
Windows / Apple Mac PCs and laptops; iOS / Android devices; AV / conference room systems; network printers Phone system management; POS systems; fuel dispensing / Mgmt systems; Business Center systems; vendor delivery / receipt systems; Rx systems; retrig data manager
Access control; burglary systems; camera / surveillance systems
Software
Windows, Mac, Linux operating systems and systems management consoles
Platform management systems (e.g., antivirus, patch management, software deployment, inventory Mgmt)
MS Exchange and Unified Communications
MS Active Directory, other LDAP tools
What is your background?
A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
0+ years of experience
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record (no DUIs) to drive company vehicle.
-Minimum age 21 (mandatory)
- Must have a valid U.S. driver - s license for 3+ years and currently have a valid Class C Texas driver's license (no CDL required)
- Excellent driving record
- No moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 years
- No DWI, DUI, or related convictions; no felony convictions
- No suspended or revoked driver licenses, permits, or privileges in any state / county (mandatory)
