About the role:
The position provides leadership and management to a multidisciplinary mental health team, promoting strengths-based practice, service improvement, performance management, and high-quality outcomes for people receiving support. The post requires strong leadership, communication, financial management, coaching, partnership working, and analytical skills, along with the ability to travel extensively
across Powys.
About you:
Leadership & Team Management - Provide clear leadership, supervision, coaching and performance management for a multidisciplinary mental health team.
Complex Case & Risk Management - Oversee high-risk cases, manage crises effectively, and provide professional guidance on complex decisions.
Communication & Partnership Working - Build strong relationships with health, social care, community and third-sector partners, and chair complex meetings.
Safeguarding & Legal Knowledge - Apply safeguarding legislation, the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and strengths-based social care practice.
Performance & Data Analysis - Use data, performance information and feedback to
monitor outcomes, improve services and inform decision-making
What you will do:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Mental Health team, providing supervision, support and professional oversight to staff.
Ensure high-quality, strengths-based social care practice that helps people achieve greater independence and positive outcomes.
Oversee complex, high-risk cases, safeguarding concerns, Mental Capacity Act work, and crisis situations.
Manage team performance, use data to monitor outcomes, and drive continuous service improvement.
Work closely with health, community and third-sector partners to develop effective multi-agency support for individuals.
Undertake AMHP duties, lead on Mental Health Act assessments, and contribute to the strategic development of Adult Mental Health Services in Powys.
