Position Summary 

Reporting to the Business Head - Nuts, the Commercial Manager will own commercial performance of the Livingston brownskin almond business, including position management, customer engagement, and sales alignment. They will manage long/short positions across seasonal inventory pools, ensuring optimal sell-through and margin realization. The Commercial Manager will act as the key interface between sales, customers, and operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Own and actively manage long/short positions across seasonal pools
  • Track sales commitments, inventory position, and processing pipeline
  • Provide visibility on availability, shortfalls, and excess positions
  • Support pricing and sales strategy through market insights
  • Partner with sales teams to align demand with inventory
  • Act as commercial contact for customers on availability and timelines
  • Support customer discussions on substitutions and product mix
  • Help resolve commercial issues including claims and supply mismatches
  • Translate customer demand into requirements for operations
  • Align with procurement and grower accounting on supply and positions
  • Work with finance on margin tracking and profitability
  • Maintain visibility on inventory positions
  • Highlight risks on aging inventory or uncovered sales
  • Support demand and supply reviews
  • Oversee production planning governance and ERP/planning parameters; ensure planning and master data discipline to support reliable execution.
  • Provide functional leadership to the Planning team
  • Develop and present supply chain insights in leadership forums; communicate risks, mitigation plans, and scenario-based recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements 

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business or related field is required. Four (4) years of relevant experience working in food or agriculture industry will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of Agri-commodity experience required, almond experience industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory and position management is required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees and customers is required. 
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes tree nuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where tree nuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air. The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $87,000 – $116,000 rate and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
