Position Title: Team Lead - Medical Assistant
Shift: Full-Time Day

Scheduled hours for this position: 0730-1600
Position Overview: The Team Lead Medical Assistant provides functional guidance and leadership to support staff while performing clinical and administrative duties in accordance with organizational standards. This role ensures smooth clinic operations through coordination of scheduling, training, and inventory management. The Team Lead may oversee inpatient and outpatient consult activities within the assigned location and perform computerized physician order entry when directed by the physician.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide supervision, guidance, and support to support staff and team members.
Perform clinical duties including patient rooming, assisting with procedures, and supporting patient care activities.
Coordinate administrative functions such as scheduling, inventory management, and staff training to maintain efficient clinic operations.
Oversee inpatient and outpatient consult activities within the assigned location.
Perform computerized physician order entry as directed by the physician.
Ensure all clinical and administrative tasks comply with organization standards and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Graduation from a Medical Assistant program and/or certification from one of the following organizations:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Health career Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare workers required.
Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an MA II or III at IU Health or equivalent.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Basic math skills and accurate data collection and entry skills.
