Team Leader, 2nd Shift

We’re looking for a motivated Team Lead to guide our assembly operations and inspire excellence every day.


Under direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is a resource to provide direction regarding processes, procedures and information within the warehouse. Accountable for the team’s overall safety, quality, productivity, performance, customer service and process improvements. Works closely with other department team leads and management to ensure daily objectives are met with assigned team. This employee will maintain the materials in the warehouse in an organized fashion with part numbers on all product, pull and stage jobs as assigned per the production schedule. Inventory accuracy is the highest priority for this role except for safety which is the only activity that outweighs accuracy
 

What You’ll Do

As a key player in our plant operations, you’ll:

  • Champion Safety & Quality: Conduct audits, enforce PPE use, and maintain high standards.

  • Problem-Solve Proactively: Tackle challenges with urgency and ownership, escalating when needed.

  • Maintain Excellence: Uphold 5S standards and ensure proper housekeeping in all work areas.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • All of the responsibilities and functions as detailed in the Material Handler I & II job descriptions.

  • Have complete familiarity of all job functions in Receiving and Warehouse operations.

  • Trained and certified in the use of all of the Material Handling equipment throughout the manufacturing operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, stand-ups, etc.

  • Able to access the ERP system and perform inventory transactions and inquiries within the system.

  • Utilizing the ERP system, determine by part number, quantity of material on hand by location.

  • Able to research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history of material movement.

  • Understands how and why the Quarantine location exists and how to use it.

  • Is a steward of all safety rules, regulations and guidelines.

 

  • Assist WH Supervisor to oversee all activities and processes related to parts packing including pre-packing, crating, staging and kitting. Ensure all parts are adequately packed and labeled.

  • Assist outside departments with resolving issues or potential issues that are related to material availability and accuracy.

  • Ability to train new employees.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED. Some training and/or supervisory experience highly desired.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to lead change in a  team environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Collaborative style as well as the ability to work cross functionally.

  • Previous warehouse experience is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
