Job Overview
The Department of Mathematics is accepting applications for Unit 11 Teaching Associate positions for the Fall 2026.
Attends assigned class time and provides classroom instruction for course numberMATH 115.
Prepares syllabus, prepares lesson plan and course materials collaboratively for each class and maintains expertise in subject area.
Assesses student performance and determines course grades for each student
Provides assistance to students during office hours
Other Responsibilities: This position includes the requirement of your attendance in meetings on Tuesdays 1:00 pm-2:15 pm throughout the semester beginning September 1, 2026 and continuing through December 8, 2026. Also, meet on Thursdays, September, 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. These meetings will be facilitated by the Lead Instructor and provide an opportunity for instructors to:
1) talk about how last week’s lesson plans/lecture notes worked and suggest updates,
2) review a draft of next week’s lesson plans/lecture notes, discuss and suggest updates,
3) write study guides, quizzes, exams and grading rubrics as a group,
4) and discuss other challenges and opportunities.
This position also includes the requirement to fully participate in the Math Teaching Associate Training Workshop to be held during on August 25, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and August 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Details regarding the exact schedule for Math Teaching Associate Workshop will be forthcoming.

Anticipated Pay Rate
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
Instructional Student Assistants are non-exempt employees. CSU policy limits work assignments to no more than 20 hours in a week in all campus positions combined while students are in session.
