Position Summary Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dedicated and dynamic Teachers Assistant to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.

The Teachers Assistant will assist Community Education staff and instructors with the operation of the program. Provide reliable, cheerful, and helpful support to students. Security and safety of students is the main priority. Requires excellent detail, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must be prompt, reliable, maintain a positive attitude, and always present a professional manner and appearance. Requires ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff, and children.

Candidates must be available Monday-Thursday, 8:15 am-4:15 pm (June 15 - July 30, 2026). Candidates must provide a letter of recommendation from an educator or employer. Prefers Education majors!

Essential Functions

  • Assist instructors in classroom with class projects and child safety.
  • Accompany students to campus locations when needed, i.e., cafeteria, bathrooms, pick up and drop off locations.
  • Students in your assigned classroom must never be left unattended.
  • Notify Community Education staff of all incidents. No incident is too small to report to the CE staff.
  • Straighten and clean classrooms at the end of the day, i.e., wipe tables, replace chairs and discard any trash left from class activities. All classrooms must be left clean at the end of the day.
  • If not assisting with a class activity, complete office work, monitor halls between classroom activity areas, helping as needed, or request additional work from CE staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director, Community Education.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective collaborator who will have demonstrated knowledge of organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will also actively participate in creating an environment that encourages, models, embraces, and incorporates diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive atmosphere and drive results.

Experience & Education Qualified candidates will have a minimum of at least one to two (1-2) years of experience working with children. Candidates must be at least 18 years old; dependable and prompt; must be able to communicate with children, one-on-one, as well as a group; Must be able to take good direction(s).
