The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization, is hiring for multiple Teaching Assistants for (Preschool, School-Age, or Floater classrooms) for our Children Education Program.

Location: Rockville, VA Rate: $15.00/hour Schedule: 8:30-4:30, up to 33 weeks per program requirements

During orientation and debriefing sessions for missionaries' children, our Children Education Program provides caring, age-appropriate support to kids ranging from infants to high school students. We match workers with the age group that best fits their strengths and experience.

Responsibilities: • Assist teachers in one of these classrooms: Preschool classroom, School-Age classroom, or "Floater" for the classroom education program • Help create a safe, welcoming environment where missionary kids can learn, play, and grow • Assist with various classroom activities to include Bible stories/activities, cultural learning activities, recess, P.E., music, arts, etc. • Aid teachers with classroom management • Assist students during lunch and snacks

Work Requirements: Experience may be flexible depending on the classroom assignment. High school diploma or GED required. Previous teaching/teaching assistance experience in any setting, from early education through high school, preferred. Current or willing to get the TDAP and FLU vaccine to work in some classrooms. Ability to lift and carry infants up to 20 pounds as needed. Physically able to lift and move young children safely, as well as navigate on and off the floor within a classroom setting. Possess the stamina and agility to perform repetitive tasks such as squatting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
