Position Overview
The Department of Biological Sciences at Marquette University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Teaching Faculty position with the possibility of renewal after one year.
The primary responsibility is to develop and lead BIOL 1101H Honors Foundations in Biological Inquiry beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will also teach non-majors biology courses within the Marquette Core Curriculum.

The faculty member will develop an original laboratory-centered CURE aligned with their area of expertise and will teach the course in both the fall and spring semesters.
The course will include four sections per semester (14 students per section), requiring the development of a scalable and sustainable research framework that supports multiple cohorts of students. The instructor will serve as the primary instructor of record for all sections and will work closely with graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants who support laboratory instruction and student mentoring under the faculty members guidance.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to translate complex biological questions into accessible, developmentally appropriate research experiences while maintaining intellectual rigor.
The successful candidate will report to the Directors of the University Honors Program and Marquette Core Curriculum and will join the Department of Biological Sciences, a collaborative departmental community committed to expanding experiential learning, strengthening high-impact practices, and building sustained pathways for research engagement across the biological sciences curriculum.
