Salary: $26,650 annual salary, plus $4000 annual stipend for Activities of Daily Living (ADL)

The Teaching Assistant supports the classroom teacher in providing instruction and individualized support to middle school students with autism in an 8:1:2 special education classroom. Students use a variety of communication methods, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with classroom instruction and implementation of IEP goals.
  • Support students with communication using AAC devices.
  • Provide academic, behavioral, social, and daily living support.
  • Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and supervision.
  • Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.

This position may include assisting students with toileting and personal care. An additional Activities of Daily Living stipend is available for staff assigned to these responsibilities.
