The School District of Waukesha is seeking qualified applicants to apply for a K-12 Specially Designed Physical Education Districtwide Teacher and Coordinator.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES include, but are not limited to:

Instruction/Leadership:

  • Possess a true desire to work with students with a wide variety of disabilities
  • Collaborate with building case managers, teachers, teaching assistants and other school personnel to maximize student's access to physical education opportunities
  • Develop professional learning at the district level related to Specially Designed Physical Education
  • Facilitate meetings with district Specially Designed Physical Education teachers to monitor IEP quality and compliance

Ensuring Excellence:

  • Contribute to a positive, productive district culture
  • Promote reflection and grow capacity for inclusive classrooms and high expectations of students
  • Coach Specially Designed Physical Education teachers in quality IEP goal writing and program delivery

IEP development/Evaluations:

  • Perform evaluations/diagnostics across the district
  • Develop quality IEP goals for students of varying abilities
  • Provide quality instruction across multiple levels in the district
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of the district's Specially Designed Physical Education program

Collaboration/Communication:

  • Use data, research and APENS standards to develop and maintain quality Specially Designed Physical Education sessions
  • Collaborate with the Director of Related Services on the budget
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on staffing analysis based on student need
  • Communicate to various stakeholders around content and implementation of the Specially Designed Physical Education program

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required at the time of hire or for the continuation of employment.

  • Valid Wisconsin Teaching License in Physical Education
  • Valid Wisconsin Teaching License in Specially Designed Physical Education
  • Experience preferable in research-based practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment as they relate to Specially Designed Physical Education
