This position is for a Teacher in Special Education (Inclusion/Resource) at Cannon Elementary School, reporting to the Principal and classified as exempt.
Primary responsibilities include providing students with engaging learning activities across core academic subjects to support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development, helping them reach their full potential.
Qualifications require a Bachelor's degree, valid Texas teaching certification with relevant endorsements, and demonstrated competency in the assigned subject area.
Key duties involve developing and implementing lesson plans accommodating diverse learning styles, collaborating with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs, assessing student progress, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Additional responsibilities include supervising aides, participating in professional development, maintaining accurate records, and engaging with parents and staff. The role demands strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with physical and emotional resilience to handle classroom demands.
