Job Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with presenting lessons.
- Create and distribute educational content.
- Assist teacher in keeping all the students engaged in lessons and activities.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom.
- Make necessary modifications to daily activities based on student's needs.
- Assist students with basic self- care skills including, but not limited to, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
- Assist students with a variety of physical needs. This may include handling equipment such as wheelchairs and braces.
- Substitute teacher when teacher is absent.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Participate in professional development courses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills - A passion for children with special needs.
- 2 years of experience in the Special Education field (preferred)
- The ability to interact and communicate effectively with children with special needs.
- The ability to work as a team member.
- Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organized and strong time management skills.
Education - High school diploma of GED.
Schedule - Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Schedule: - 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
Education: - High school or equivalent (Required)
