Position: Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) 2026-2028 Grant Funded Position Announcement (2 Year Position) Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) - Secondary Schools: Educator Career Pathways, Civic Readiness and Service Learning The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) will provide secondary support in the facilitation, implementation, and continuous improvement of the San Leandro Unified Early Educator Career Pathway Program, and Civic and Service Learning initiatives. This 1.0 FTE position will support expanding high-quality college, career, and civic readiness opportunities for secondary students by supporting pathway development, civic engagement, and service-learning opportunities. The TOSA will collaborate with secondary teachers, postsecondary partners, and industry partners to review, design, and align curriculum, instructional materials, lesson plans, assessments, and real world learning experiences. The position will support student recruitment, onboarding, and instructional guidance in student learning experiences. The position will support teachers in integrating civic engagement, community-based learning, and service-learning projects into classroom instruction; develop partnerships with community organizations and local agencies; and create opportunities for students to engage in authentic civic action, leadership development, and community problem-solving. *186 days; daily hours shall be six hours and forty minutes, exclusive of a duty-free lunch period and hours will be assigned by the supervisor. All other elements of Collective Bargaining Agreement apply. Work location will be at San Leandro High School. Teaching Credential Required Bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
