Job Summary
The Teacher - Middle School Special Education Lead is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment overseen by the school Principal and Special Education Coordinator where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: ESEP Lead Teacher - Middle Salary Schedule: State Plus Local Supplement Department: Exceptional Students Education Program School: Job Code 117114 Reports To: Principal and Coordinator of ESEP Work Schedule: 190 days, 8 hours
Primary Function: Knowledge of all Special Education processes including due process IEPs and scheduling. Knowledge of Special Education law and compliance. Demonstrated communication skills.

Qualifications A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Professional Standards Commission. Special Education General curriculum or Special Education Adaptive Curriculum or Other Special Education field Certification in one or more academic content areas P-5, 4-8, 6-12, or P-12 is preferred. The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
