QUALIFICATIONProperly certified in all areas of assignmentDemonstrate cooperativeness and willingness to carry-out assigned tasks and Performance responsibilities.Other qualifications determined necessary by the Board.REPORTS TO Principal or DesigneeGENERAL SUPERVISOR SuperintendentJOB GOAL To develop in each pupil an understanding of the relationship of good Body functions and exercise to motivate each pupil to cultivate Physical fitness hygienic health habits and good social and emotional Adjustment to discover and develop talents of pupils in physical Achievement to develop strength skill agility poise and coordination In individual dual and team physical activities and sports in Accordance with each pupil&rsquos ability.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESTeach knowledge and skills in physical fitness health education rhythms and dance and individual dual or team sports utilizing teaching competencies and other appropriate learning activities.Instruct pupils in citizenship expected student behavior and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.Work cooperatively with other physical educationhealth teachers in planning a balanced education program to assure continuity and articulation.Analyze demonstrate and explain basic skills knowledge and strategies of formal sports games rhythms and fundamentals of body movement.Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil to the extent feasible.Teach physical education classes for handicapped pupils inter-scholastic activities.88Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of pupils.Maintain and control the storage and use of school-owned property.On a daily basis oversee that gym floors are clean and cared for and make sure that custodiansmaintenance personnel keep the gymnasium andor multi-purpose building clean at all times to include the showers dressing rooms storage rooms lobby porch concession areas weight room rest rooms and office.Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly productive environment in the physical education areas.Evaluate each pupil&rsquos growth in physical skills knowledge and contribution in team sports.Maintain professional competencies through in-service education provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.Participate cooperatively with the principal or hisher designee to develop the method by which the teacher will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.Select and requisition uniforms equipment and instructional aides and maintain required inventory records.Communicate with parents bi-weekly monthly or sooner as the need arises to discuss the student&rsquos weaknesses strengths progress and behavior.Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in helping pupils solve health attitude and learning problems.Cooperate with school administration in providing specialty performing groups for specific occasions board meeting assemblies and inter-scholastic athletic events.Supervise polios in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.Participate in curriculum alignment benchmarks performance standardsassessments and revisions inclusive of bilingual development programs and implement EPSS.Gather data in order to develop strategies for student improvement.Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities to include in and out of school activities.Administer Group Standardized Tests in accordance with district testing program.Administer the Language Assessment Scale Testing and Scoring in both English and Spanish.Attend board meetings at the request of the Superintendent or hisher authorized designee.Perform other assigned tasks required of the supervisors.
