This role involves planning and delivering effective classroom instruction, leading elementary physical education programs, supporting student development, and contributing to the overall school community. Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum Development- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
- Develop lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with curriculum standards.
- Establish and clearly communicate learning objectives for all activities.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse student needs.
- Integrate relevant technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Classroom Environment & Management- Prepare and maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment.
- Manage student behavior by establishing clear expectations, rules, and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Apply appropriate and consistent disciplinary measures when necessary.
Student Assessment & Progress- Observe, assess, and evaluate student performance and development.
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and projects.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student achievement and development.
- Prepare reports as required by school policies and regulations.
Student Support & Pastoral Care- Provide academic support and encouragement to students.
- Offer guidance and counseling for students experiencing academic challenges.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture.
- Model Christ-centered values and encourage spiritual growth through daily interactions.
Elementary Physical Education & Coaching- Plan and deliver engaging elementary physical education instruction that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy habits.
- Develop age-appropriate activities and lessons that encourage participation and lifelong wellness.
- Organize and lead structured games, skill-building exercises, and recreational activities.
- Serve as a positive coach and mentor to elementary students, promoting character, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal responsibility.
- Assist with coordinating school athletic programs, practices, competitions, and special events as assigned.
- Maintain a safe environment during all physical activities and ensure proper use of equipment and facilities.
- Encourage student participation and foster confidence through physical activity and team experiences.
Communication & Collaboration- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, department meetings, and parent conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and student success.
School Involvement & Professional Growth- Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs, events, and athletics.
- Support school athletic events and activities as assigned.
- Stay current with developments in subject areas, teaching methods, physical education practices, and educational technology.
