JOB DESCRIPTION LINK

As a Teacher Assistant with Special School District's (SSD) Bridges program, you will help students ages 12 through 21 build the academic, social, emotional, and independent living skills that prepare them for success in school and beyond. Working alongside teachers and a collaborative educational team, you will encourage growth, celebrate progress, and help create a structured, supportive environment where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to learn. Through your daily interactions, patience, and encouragement, you will help students develop confidence while reinforcing positive behaviors and fostering greater independence. Whether assisting with classroom activities, preparing instructional materials, collecting student data, or providing hands-on support, your work will make a meaningful difference in each student's educational journey.

Salary
  • $22 to $38/hr. based on education and experience
Education Requirements
  • Thirty-six (36) hours of college credit required, or completion of the Frontline Substitute Teacher Training as approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Substitute Certification issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required
Calendar
  • 10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location(s)
