Primary responsibility is assisting teacher in implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start Program Performance Standards, which includes creating and maintaining a safe classroom environment. The Assistant Teacher will assist in implementing positive guidance strategies to support the social and emotional development of children; will ensure healthy and safe practices for children; and will engage families in the program to support child''s development and parent''s role as child''s first and most important educator. Assistant Teachers will follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the "Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers"; and will work with a lead teacher in a classroom of 15-18 children ages 3-5.
