Title: Preschool Aide

Division/Office: Finance/Education/Montessori Laboratory School

Monday - Friday: 12:15pm - 4pm, 19 hrs/week

The Preschool Aide position reports to the Administrator of CUMLS and Classroom Montessori Teacher(s)

  • Position Summary

The Preschool Aide position provides assistance to the classroom teachers during the day.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise children in the classroom
  • Assist with supervision of children during drop off/pickup time.
  • Assist with the clean up and maintenance of the Montessori prepared environment. This includes but is not limited to cleaning, sweeping, dusting, moving furniture, and other chores necessary so that the environment is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and safe for the children.
  • All other duties, as required.

  • Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent and Federal Work Study approved student
  • A current TB screening
  • Current CPR training and First Aid certificate preferred
  • Physical Requirements
  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of employment.
  • Must be capable of bending, reaching, and running.
  • Must be capable of moving furniture and arranging classroom activities.
  • Must be capable of standing for prolonged periods of time.
