DEFINITION:
The Arts Content Specialist provides leadership and support to staff for the improvement of student achievement. The
Arts Content Specialist is responsible for facilitating the development, implementation and assessment of standardsbased
instruction focused on student performance in the areas of Performing and Visual Arts. The Arts Content Specialist
will work with appropriate personnel at all levels in the organization to implement and support current best practices in
teaching and learning as they relate to Performing and Visual Arts and programmatic requirements as determined by the
District and Arizona Department of Education.
MAJOR DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Arizona K-12 Teaching Certificate in either Performing or Visual Arts is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of successful Performing or Visual Arts teaching experience in a secondary setting.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following with groups of adult learners: collaborating, modeling,
observing, curriculum writing, providing feedback and support: to improve instructional practice.
