Considering leadership's vast public accounting experience, we are a unique local firm that has expertise in servicing large and complex clients as well as ones that would be traditionally served by a local firm.The ideal candidate will aspire to be a key member of our team and will help with day to day management of the tax and accounting projects as well as to develop the ability to be able to help manage the practice. Public accounting experience required including previous tax compliance experience and the desire to research tax and accounting issues and manage projects. The tax manager will help prepare some complex projects and help review a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnerships, S corporation, C corporation and trust/estate tax returns. The tax manager will be required to research legislation and exercise professional judgment to identify and resolve complex issues within the tax returns.Responsibilities Review income tax returns for S corporations, partnerships, C corporations, individuals and trustsPrepare some complex tax returns and tax/accounting projectsPerform tax research and prepare written memorandaCommunicate with partners and clients relating to questions or information requests needed to complete assigned projectsHandle challenging technical projectsIdentify client service and engagement efficiency opportunitiesPerform IRS, state and local problem resolutions for tax notices using tax practitioner helpline and online resourcesHelp training less experienced associatesQualifications At least 4 years of public accounting firm experienceBachelor\'s degree in AccountingCPA licensureSolid understanding of basic and moderate tax and accounting issuesSolid experience in review of S corporation, C corporation, partnership and individual income tax returns.
