IDR is seeking a Tax Manager to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee. This role offers the chance to lead comprehensive tax operations within a prominent organization, focusing on strategic planning, compliance, and risk management, all within an established industry setting.

Position Overview for the Tax Manager:

  • Lead the daily operations of the enterprise-wide tax function, ensuring compliance and effective strategy implementation
  • Oversee tax filings including federal Forms 990 and 990T, collaborating with internal teams and external advisors
  • Provide strategic tax insights and advice on regulatory changes and organizational growth initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor a team of staff and senior tax accountants, promoting professional development and engagement
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all tax-related documentation, including journal entries and reconciliations

Requirements for the Tax Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) required
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, ideally within a nonprofit or enterprise environment
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and federal, state, and local tax regulations applicable to nonprofit organizations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
