Job Description
As an auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring the insurance industry is in compliance with tax state laws and regulations.

The Division of Insurance is a small division that consists of 48 positions split between Anchorage and Juneau with the Director based in Anchorage and the Deputy Director based in Juneau. The Financial Reports and Audits section within the division fosters an environment for learning and growth. The working environment you can expect:
This position is on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau, Alaska. The 9th floor also houses other divisions within the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. The office consist of floor to ceiling windows that allows natural light to flow in the building. From the 9th floor we can view of the Governors mansion and Juneaus beautiful mountain ranges. After the successful completion of the training plan, this position may be given the opportunity to telework part-time.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, tax, auditing, examining, preparing, reviewing, or reconciling financial accounts and data.
Special Note:
"Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
"Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
"Training" and "education" in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
