Position Overview
This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the County's tax administration and revenue collection operations while serving the citizens and businesses of the community. The employee performs responsible administrative, financial, and customer service work involving the review, verification, preparation, and maintenance of tax-related information used in the billing and collection of real property, personal property, and special assessment taxes.
Employees in this role regularly interact with taxpayers, attorneys, financial institutions, and other agencies to provide information, explain tax-related processes, and assist with resolving account issues in a professional and courteous manner. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy analytical work, problem-solving, attention to detail, and working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and customer service are essential. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the County's financial operations and helping maintain fair and equitable tax administration for the community.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited two-year community college with a degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Managers Preference: Experience with property tax

Conditions of Employment:
Employees are required to complete the North Carolina Fundamentals of Tax Collection and North Carolina Fundamentals of Property Tax Listing and Assessing Course within 24 months.
