About the role

The Tank Room Operator is responsible for opening and closing valves on the large tanks containing hot oil depending on the order. They are responsible for keeping up with the maintenance of the tanks and reporting when there is an issue, as well as cleaning the tanks and floors in the tank room as necessary.

Responsibilities

Safety & Environmental Performance

Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.

Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.

Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.

Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.

Adhere to GMP's and other work procedures as to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.

Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely

Work Requirements

Communicate with K2 on oil availability

Maintain continuous, non interrupted supply of oil for packiaing lines

Document, inventory, sample and monitor oil received

Maintain tank temperatures at optimal packaging conditions

Make tank changes as needed to supply packing lines

Transfer oil from storages as directed by management

Monitor/maintain/transfer fat pit contents

Clear supply lines at E.O.R. or as required by Shift Leader or operators.

Maintain clean work area and keep free of forgien material

Comply with all plant and personal GMP's

Perform any and all tasks assigned to you by any member of management given your Shift Leader has approved the task.

Routinely check all tanks and valves to keep the correct product moving

Clean tanks and rooms as needed

Update packaging schedule with oils pumped to K1

Cost Control

Reduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelines

Ensure work is completed to customers specifications

Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in your daily work

About you

High School Diploma or GED

Mechanical aptitude

Ability to do simple mathematical calculations

Must be literate and able to speak and understand English
