Job Summary/Basic Function

Millersville University Talent Search is currently seeking dedicated and responsible MU students to serve as Talent Search Mentors for an upcoming high school summer camp to be hosted from June 14-18. This temporary position requires individuals who are enthusiastic, organized, and capable of providing mentorship to high school scholars. They must be available for training on June 10.

MU Talent Search serves scholars whom would be first in the family to attend college.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Millersville University student at time of employment.
  • Must be available to work with High school students.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must attend all scheduled trainings and meetings.
  • Must complete the PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearance or provide the clearance results from a previous employer or educational purpose. Must be completed BEFORE starting in position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multilingual proficiency in Creole or Spanish
  • Customer services experience
  • Must attend all scheduled trainings and meetings.
  • Previous experience in customer service is preferred, but not required.

Job Duties

  • Guiding students to their designated classrooms/workshops · Addressing inquiries or concerns from participants
  • Presenting yourself as a mentor and offering guidance as needed
  • Complete delegated tasks for the summer camps
  • Building relationships with high school students
  • Provide Talent Search supplies and resources to high school students
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Be able to walk across campus for workshops
