We are seeking an experienced Tag and Title Specialist with strong knowledge of liens, lien releases, and title reassignments. This role requires accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage high-volume title work while staying compliant with state DMV regulations.
Full job description
- Verifies and ensures accuracy of recorded information, forms, license number/vin information etc.
- Verifies that all documents are approved, signed and distributed according to established procedure
- Serves as a point of contact for employee/customer questions about policies and procedures
- Works exception queues and updates and validates title and other exceptions in the system
- Assists vendors, dealers, and other third parties with questions about processes, status and issue resolution.
- Answer phones and emails in a timely manner.
- Completes title packets within given states requirements and deadlines.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed within the business office.
- Stay updated on state and federal title regulations and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Process motor vehicle titles in compliance with DMV regulations
- Handle liens, lien satisfactions, and lien releases
- Complete and verify title reassignments
- Prepare title applications, transfers, and corrections
- Resolve title issues including missing documents and errors
- Communicate with DMVs, lienholders, buyers, and internal teams
- Track title status and follow up on outstanding items
- Maintain accurate and organized title records
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Title Clerk
- Strong working knowledge of liens and reassignments
- Experience with multi-state DMV processes preferred
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines
- Proficient with title systems and Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience
- Automotive auction, dealership, or finance background
- High-volume title processing environment
- TAVT , and CVR Experience
