Every sortie depends on the unseen excellence of APG mechanics. At Chipton‑Ross in Greenville, SC, your F‑16 expertise will sustain aircraft availability through meticulous maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and disciplined launch/recovery operations.
Your impact
- Maintain and repair electro‑mechanical and pneumatic systems with precision
- Conduct operational checkouts and periodic inspections of:
- Electrical, hydraulic, and propulsion systems
- Landing gear and flight controls
- Fueling/defueling systems
- Airframe, furnishings, and crew‑escape systems
- Direct aircraft movement and execute launch, recovery, and ground operations
- Remove/reinstall access panels, components, and hardware
- Apply technical data rigorously and uphold safety/quality standards
- Advance sustainment, repair, and overhaul on operational F‑16s
Credentials that fit
- 6+ years of recent aircraft maintenance experience; or 4+ years with strong, relevant F‑16 experience
- F‑16 experience required
- Deep familiarity with:
- Landing gear • Powerplants • Flight controls • Fuel systems
- Aircraft launch, recovery, and ground movement
- High School Diploma or accredited GED
Skills Matrix (Required)
- Aircraft Crew Chief / Mechanic experience: 4–6 years
- F‑16 aircraft experience: 4–6 years
- Fighter aircraft experience (F‑16, F‑18, F‑22, F‑35): 4–6 years
Schedule and terms
- Full‑Time Contract Ends - 1/2027
- 2nd Shift | Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
- Start on 1st shift for initial training; transition to 2nd shift upon completion
