To collaborate with the Rehab Liaison to compile all information necessary to verify benefits and determine if Spain Rehabilitation Center (SRC) is within payer network. To request and receive authorization for the admission to SRC. To complete the pre-admission documentation in HealthQuest. To discuss financial obligations with patient and/or other responsible party. To inform Rehab Liaison as to status of preauthorization and admission clearance in order to facilitate timely communication with physician, discharge planner, patient and family.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an Allied Health field and three (3) years of related experience in a rehabilitation environment required. Experience with admissions case management preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing or currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Social Worker by the appropriate State of Alabama Board required. Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required. Certified Case Manager (CCM) from the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) preferred.
