In this client‑facing role, you'll be responsible for executing technology projects ranging from cloud migrations and infrastructure upgrades to security implementations and Microsoft 365 deployments.You'll work independently or in small teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet our clients' business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesProject ExecutionLead and execute small to medium‑size client projects (20‑100 hours) from planning through implementation.Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environments, Sophos security solutions, and Unifi networking equipment.Perform cloud migrations, network infrastructure upgrades, and cybersecurity implementations.Document project configurations, procedures, and client environments in ConnectWise Manage.Collaborate with team members on larger two‑person project engagements.Provide light project management including timeline tracking and client status updates.Client EngagementServe as the primary technical point of contact during project implementations.Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients with varying levels of technical expertise.Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional service delivery.Conduct onsite assessments and implementations at client locations (50% of time).Gather requirements and provide recommendations aligned with client business needs.Technical SupportProvide escalation support to the service desk team when needed.Troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple platforms and vendors.Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices relevant to our client base.Required Qualifications3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in an MSP or similar client‑facing IT environment.Proven track record of successfully implementing technology projects for SMB clients.Experience with project documentation and client communication.Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory/Entra ID.Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration and deployment.Experience with Sophos security products (firewall, endpoint protection, etc.).Familiarity with Unifi networking equipment and management.Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN).Experience with ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate (or similar PSA/RMM tools).Preferred qualifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) certification.Microsoft 365 certifications.CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.Soft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong customer relationship management abilities.Superior problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Professional demeanor and appearance for client‑facing interactions.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client site visits.Experience in specific vertical industries.Location: San Diego office with hybrid flexibility (3‑4 days in office per week).Schedule: Monday ‑ Friday, 8:00 AM ‑ 5:00 PM.Client Site Work: Approximately 50% of time spent at client locations throughout San Diego area.On‑Call: Participation in escalation rotation as needed.Travel: Local travel within San Diego region; minimal overnight travel.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.Paid Time Off (PTO).Certification reimbursement program to support your professional development.Opportunities for career advancement within a growing organization.The T2 Project Engineer role is a key position within our technical team structure, reporting to the Professional Services Lead.
