Digital Services Technical Manager
We are looking for a Digital Services Technical Manager who will have the technical skills to drive innovation and collaboration between diverse teams of Software Developers, Site Reliability Engineers, Automation Engineers, Testing Engineers, Network Engineers, Database Engineers, Cloud Operations Engineers, Tools Engineers, Application Developers, and Security experts. As a Digital Services Technical Manager of a team of individuals, you will lead initiatives and build processes to advocate for modern software practices through a DevSecOps methodology.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a key technical leader driving the maturity of software development and continuous delivery for highly visible applications.
• Demonstrated success in senior technical consulting or advisory roles, driving strategic change and digital adoption across multiple organizations or business units.
• Oversee and implement a broad range of technology transformation initiatives, including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging digital solutions.
• Understand the technical and business environment to assess impact and risk, and provide clear executive-level communication regarding system events or operational status.
• Contribute to technical strategy development and response artifacts that align with organizational roadmaps and objectives.
• Provide accountability and ownership for digital services initiatives while leading and coordinating technical resources to ensure successful outcomes.
• Apply modern tooling and observability metrics to identify, troubleshoot, and remediate recurring enterprise or cloud platform issues.
• Monitor and manage communications during high-impact events across appropriate channels.
• Prioritize, manage, and resolve emerging and ongoing technical issues from initiation through resolution.
• Apply enterprise best practices in monitoring and alerting.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization to improve incident response and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure technical standards are maintained across engineering teams.
• Identify inefficiencies in team processes and develop improvement plans.
• Establish a standard approach for integrating data, systems, and emerging technologies such as AI and digital dashboards.
• Create and review technical documentation including incident reports, root cause analyses, and mitigation procedures.
• Participate in Agile sprints to evolve technologies, processes, and platforms.
• Manage workload and performance of technical resources, including employees and subcontractors.
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of relevant technical experience, including leadership or lead-level responsibilities.
• Extensive experience building and operating cloud-based environments, including networking, security, and database technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in DevSecOps, automation, security, application development, integration, and release management.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and maturing CI/CD pipelines toward progressive delivery models.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts.
• Experience using cloud-native monitoring, logging, and security tools.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based containerized applications and microservices architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, feature flagging, and delivery performance metrics.
• Experience supporting real-time monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics during incident response.
• Experience with observability platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby).
• Self-starter able to operate at both tactical and strategic levels with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to support environments requiring after-hours support when necessary.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership presence and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrated experience leading critical incident resolution and root cause analysis efforts.
• Experience working with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
• Knowledge of network administration and management principles.
• Familiarity with secure remote access technologies and protocols.
• Industry-recognized cloud and security certifications strongly preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required access authorization.
Preferred Skills:
• Prior experience supporting regulated or high-availability environments.
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
