Description:

You will be the Systems Engineer Senior - Test for the F-16 & T/FA-50 System Integration and Test Team which is responsible for performing system level testing for advanced avionics on the F-16 and T/FA-50 platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Systems Engineer Senior - Test you will be responsible for operating as a deputy technical coordinator for the F‑16 communications agile team, performing avionics integration tests, developing system‑level test procedures, and troubleshooting new avionics products in both a lab and flight‑test environment.

'Your responsibilities will include:'

  • Conducting system‑level tests for Link‑16, radio, AIFF, and other communications subsystems in a lab environment
  • Developing system‑level test procedures based on system requirements documentation
  • Collaborating with a team of engineers to identify system anomalies and develop process‑improvement initiatives
  • Performing technical reviews of team tasking, including test reports, test procedures, and automated test scripts
  • Coordinating technical exchanges and lab scheduling across a variety of external teams

You are a collaborative engineer with strong analytical skills and proven experience in avionics testing and system integration. You thrive in fast‑paced environments, can translate requirements into clear test procedures, and communicate findings effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Some shift work (2nd / 3rd) may be required to support program and lab schedules. Some travel is expected as need up to 20%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar STEM discipline
  • Aircraft avionics experience
  • Experience with aircraft communications systems including but not limited to Link-16, IDM, Radios, AIFF, etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Physically able to access aircraft cockpit test fixtures and conduct lab testing for typical 6-hour test shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to conform with flight line dress code and FOD requirements.
  • Fighter aircraft avionics experience
  • Hands-on experience with testing of avionics software and hardware
  • Understanding of the systems engineering process
  • Proficient in data analysis, problem identification/isolation, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Experience operating in an agile environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
