Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Guided by our Mission, Vision, and Values, we are committed to doing what’s right—for our customers, our employees, and the world around us.

Your greatest work is ahead.

Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer / Requirements Manager to support the Ground-Based Radar (GBR) Digitization Program, a major modernization initiative enhancing the nation’s missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness capabilities.

Program Overview

In this role, you will support the modernization of legacy radar systems across eight Ground-Based Radar sites. These systems provide continuous surveillance, detection, tracking, and reporting of missile and satellite activity in support of Missile Warning (MW), Missile Defense (MD), and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) missions.

The GBR Digitization Program is implementing a common digital backend architecture and modernizing radar front-end systems to maximize standardization, improve maintainability, and enhance mission readiness across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do

  • Requirements Development & Allocation — Develop, decompose, and allocate system requirements across architectures, radar back-end systems, algorithms, hardware, and software.

  • Traceability & Baseline Management — Maintain end‑to‑end bidirectional traceability from mission objectives to system components within the digital system model.

  • MBSE-Driven Requirements Modeling — Mature and maintain the digital system model using MBSE best practices to ensure alignment with mission, cyber, interoperability, and environmental requirements. Work in CAMEO Enterprise Architect.

  • Verification & Validation Strategy — Define V&V strategies, develop system test cases and test procedures directly within the model, and track objective evidence for design reviews. Support site V&V testing.

  • Interface Definition & ICD Management — Author and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface definitions within the MBSE environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement — Elicit, analyze, and translate stakeholder needs into clear, structured, and testable system requirements.

  • Lifecycle Engineering Support — Support the program’s three-phase contract: requirements definition, baseline establishment, and deployment of the modernized radar solution. Support design, interfaces, MOSA, and fault analysis (FMECA).

  • Mission-Focused Design — Ensure requirements support demanding performance needs for systems operating in austere, remote, and severe-weather environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience (additional experience, training, or certifications may substitute for degree).

  • US Citizen; Currently possesses an Active Secret Clearance.

  • Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, Cameo, requirements definition and management, system integration, configuration management, cybersecurity, test support, and CI/CD.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Professional certifications such as DoD IAT Level II (e.g., Security+).

  • Experience supporting DoD, MDA, U.S. Space Force, Air Force, or Intelligence Community programs.

  • Experience with Integrated Tactical Warning / Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) systems or radar systems.

  • Experience with missile and space on‑orbit events, cybersecurity, classified networks, cloud solutions, operational acceptance governance, and system lifecycle management.

  • Experience with DOORS or other requirements management tools.
