The candidate will be responsible and accountable for conducting technical tasks in support of the Systems Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), Engineering/Airworthiness and Electronic Information Environment (EIE) Support Systems within the CC-130J In-Service Support Program.
The candidate is expected to have the capacity to execute (within a limited scope and at an entry level) technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, technical engineering report reviews, functional analyses, detailed trade studies, interface definition studies, requirements definition, solution development, and data analysis.
Responsibilities of the work include:
- Conduct thorough requirements analyses to ensure consistency, unambiguity, measurability and quality across large requirement sets.
- Oversight and technical input into a variety of feasibility studies for future potential upgrades to the platform.
- Life Cycle Systems Engineering Process (LCSEP) process adherence verification, upgrade program stage gate design review presentation preparation, and detail technical analysis support as required.
- Act as a customer liaison relating to Engineering, Systems Engineering or Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) matters.
- Prepare and deliver Engineering, Systems Engineering and R&M briefings for program review meetings.
- Failure Analysis Report (FAR) review, database data logging, failure analysis tracking, and report scanning/filing.
- Coordinate Reliability Review Meetings, including presentation preparation, and compile impacts resulting from those meetings.
- Conduct thorough reviews, monitoring and analysis of Failure Reporting Analysis Correct Action System (FRACAS) data.
- Provide support to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analyses and Maintenance Task Analyses, then document within the LSAR Database as required.
- Develop and provide Mean Time Between Failure / Mean Time Between Repair (MTBF/MTBR) values to Provisioning.
- Provide support to the maintenance of data load requirements and procedures for loading data from the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR)/ILS database to Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) and in the maintenance of the data in DRMIS.
- Provide support to the maintenance of the Canadian LSAR/ILS database and access to the ILS database by Department of National Defence/Canadian Forces (DND/CF) and Third Line Maintenance Contractor, as required.
- Follow an established process to review and load electronic data. Understand the goal of the process, recognize exceptional situations, and provide guidance to the customer and program management on the process. - Work with peers to review, improve, and update processes, so they are aligned with the fleet's technical needs.
- Collaborate with the customer and colleagues to understand the nature and impact of electronic systems' technical issues, and a course of action to correct the fault.
- Develop impact statements to explain the issue for the customer and program management.
- Provide support to Technical Publications group for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance task data as required.Provide analysis and updated source data for technical publications in response to maintenance issues.Develop Engineering Response in support of Technical Problem and coordinate reviews with Product Functional Teams (PFT).
- Support development of Usage Based Inspections schedule as part of the Aircraft Structural Integrity Management Program.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a discipline related to aerospace, or equivalent education and experience;
- Familiarity with aircraft systems and terminology;
- Analytical, planning, and organizational skills;
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with other functional leads and customer counterparts, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Engineering Principles including familiarity with Systems Engineering, Reliability & Maintainability and Logistic Support Analysis.
- Familiarity with aircraft operations, aircraft design and/or aircraft maintenance practices.
- Training or experience in Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) Engineering.
- Has demonstrated ability to negotiate to a positive outcome with multiple stakeholders.
- Has demonstrated excellent team building and interpersonal skills, capable of relationship building in alignment with a common goal.
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative and proactivity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word (coding would be considered as a plus).
- Bilingualism - English and French.
