Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in the Automotive domain
- 3 years of experience in Software Engineering
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and/or features
- Functional knowledge of electrical module design, networking, wiring, power distribution, body systems, chassis systems, etc.
- History of collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve software problems and CAN communication
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
- Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of related experience in an automotive engineering role
- Electrical Systems engineering experience including understanding of systems engineering V model
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Documents (DFMEA, Special Characteristics Communication and Agreement Form, Boundary Diagrams)
- Hands-on technical role engaged in developing, implementing, and supporting software applications
- Experience progressing customer use-cases and concepts through design, architecture, development, testing, and integration cycles
- Strong systems thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively lead multi-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to quickly understand and articulate complex issues
- Emotional resilience to negotiate multi-functional trade-offs
- Electrical D&R experience / Electrical testing experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead development of features at the systems level from early feature development to production, including leading feature upgrade and migration plans
- Develop high-level network, wiring, and power distribution topologies / schematics / block diagrams
- Allocate features and functions to meet cost, quality, and feature performance targets
- Develop feature/functional/implementation specifications, feature Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, feature verification plan, functional safety assessment, and cybersecurity assessment & mitigation to meet use case attribute targets
- Design feature systems using Model Based Systems Engineering & Software Development (i.e. python, C) and software requirement tools (ex: Gherkin) for design and documentation
- Review existing system designs to find new opportunities for cost or quality improvement
- Interact with product and programs teams, core engineers, and functional areas to create balanced solutions to challenging requirements
- Develop relationships with multi-functional teams and supply base to learn about the latest technologies and possible implementation
- Analyze complex multi-functional systems and implement innovative solutions
- Lead trade-off discussions with multi-functional teams
- Communicate complex systems, issues, and resolutions in a clear and concise manner
- Apply connected data & data analytics to develop a deep understanding of the customer
