Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support and enhance our Microsoft-centric infrastructure, with a strong focus on Azure and Microsoft 365 (O365). This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running, while continuing to grow within a rapidly expanding organization. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-first infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance across enterprise systems. This position requires a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and a desire to learn and grow.

 

This is a direct hire opportunity located onsite Monday-Friday in either Barrington or Chicago, IL with 10% travel throughout the Midwest.

 

Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering

  • Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS)
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 (O365) including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Support hybrid environments integrating cloud and on-premise systems
  • Manage server infrastructure across Windows environments

 

Security & Compliance

  • Support and maintain security solutions (including OTS security tools)
  • Implement best practices for identity, access, and cloud security
  • Assist in maintaining compliance, data protection, and system integrity

 

Systems Administration & Support

 

  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support across infrastructure systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud, server, and network environments
  • Support Active Directory, DNS, and related services
  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management

 

Collaboration & Growth

 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements and modernization initiatives
  • Participate in projects including cloud migrations and system deployments
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 5–6+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud, or infrastructure roles
    (more senior candidates with strong skills also considered)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Microsoft 365 / O365 administration
    • Windows server environments
  • Experience with cloud architecture and infrastructure design
  • Exposure to security practices and tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell or similar)
  • Exposure to enterprise security tools and frameworks
  • Relevant certifications (Azure, Microsoft 365, etc.) are a plus but not required
