Description
Are you ready to power the future of automation at Laminex?
Laminex
For over 90 years, Laminex has been a leader in the Australian building industry, delivering high-quality surfaces and design solutions. As part of our team, you'll be empowered to innovate, grow, and make a real impact.
We're looking for a talented and hands-on Control System Technician to join our team Dardanup manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, site-based role where you'll be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our plant's automated systems and electrical infrastructure.
What you'll be responsible for:
In this role, you'll work closely with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot control system issues, optimise preventative maintenance strategies, and lead automation-focused capital projects. You'll also be the technical bridge between PLC programming and operations, helping to resolve complex automation challenges.
You'll also:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs using Rockwell software applications including Factory Talk.
- Configure and deploy control systems and develop automated visual reports by integrating data from Historian and the site's SCADA systems.
- Maintain and support the plant's SQL server and reporting systems.
- Integrate Factory Talk Optix systems to connect PLCs, SCADA, and our cloud platform Lighthouse SFOL.
- Collaborate with IT/OT teams to deliver advanced automation solutions.
- Maintain an in depth understanding of the site's SCADA networks and associated infrastructure to ensure efficient incident response as well as contribute effectively to ongoing/future site projects
- Maintain accurate electrical drawings using Visio and AutoCAD.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and maintain ESV certifications.
- Support new equipment installations and major capital projects.
What we're looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering - or a relevant Electrical Trade Certificate A grade with Automation experience.
- Experience developing, modifying, and trouble shooting PLC programs (Rockwell Siemens), including implementing control logic improvements and supporting production operations.
- Proven experience in PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, CTI).
- Strong understanding of SCADA development and scripting (Cicode).
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases and industrial networked systems.
- Electrical qualifications and experience in electrical design and I/O systems.
- A solid grasp of automation standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing capital projects, particularly in automation and electrical infrastructure.
We offer:
- 26 weeks of full-pay parental leave (or 52 weeks at half pay), with flexible return-to-work options.
- Career development opportunities in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
- A strong focus on safety, well-being, and continuous improvement.
