The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organization's servers, systems, cloud services, and end-user technology environment. The role has a broad systems administration focus, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, virtual machines, networking, storage, Microsoft 365, and escalated internal user support.The position also supports Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID as part of the organization's hybrid infrastructure and identity environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can troubleshoot issues across endpoints, identity, servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.Key ResponsibilitiesSystems AdministrationAdminister and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related infrastructure.Manage user accounts, groups, organizational units, service accounts, permissions, and access controls.Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster-recovery processes.Maintain accurate system documentation, infrastructure diagrams, operating procedures, and support runbooks.Infrastructure TroubleshootingProvision, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines in on-premises and Azure environments.Diagnose performance and availability issues involving CPU, memory, storage, networking, operating systems, and applications.Troubleshoot network issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and connectivity.Manage and troubleshoot file shares, storage capacity, permissions, latency, throughput, and availability.Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.Internal User SupportProvide advanced technical support and serve as an escalation point for internal user issues.Troubleshoot Windows devices, Microsoft 365 applications, email, authentication, MFA, VPN, network access, printers, and business applications.Support employee onboarding, offboarding, account provisioning, access changes, and equipment deployment.Investigate recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions where possible.Communicate clearly with users regarding issue status, resolution steps, and available workarounds.Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft365Administer Microsoft Entra ID users, groups, roles, enterprise applications, and authentication settingServices.Support MFA, Conditional Access, single sign‑on, identity synchronization, and hybrid identity services.Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, account, licensing, and application‑access issues.Support Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services.Assist with Intune, device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint‑management policationSupport Azure virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, backup, monitoring, and access management.Troubleshoot Azure‑hosted infrastructure, networking, storage, identity, and connectivity issues.Assist with Azure subscription administration, resource organization, tagging, role‑based access, and cost monitoring.Participate in cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and modernization projects as needed.Security and Operational ImprovementSupport patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, logging, monitoring, and audit activivities.Apply least‑privilege, role‑based access, MFA, and other security best practices.Respond to infrastructure alerts and participate in incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.Use PowerShell and related tools to automate user administration, system checks, reporting, and repetitive operationaltasks.Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, standardize processes, and reduce manual eeffort.Required QualificationsFive or more years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or systems engineeringStrong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCPExperience supporting virtual machines, networking, storage, backups, and internal usersExperience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra IDWorking knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and servicesUnderstanding of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, authentication, MFA, and access controlsExperience with PowerShell scripting or administrative automationStrong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer-serviceskillsAbility to manage technical issues independently from initial investigation through resolution.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Intune and Windows AutopilotExperience with VMware, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization platformsExperience with SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and enterprise singlesign-onExperience with Microsoft Defender, Defender for Cloud, or MicrosoftSentinelFamiliarity with Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, and cloud governanceExperience working in a regulated or professional‑services environmentMicrosoft, CompTIA, or equivalent technical certif#J-18808-Ljbffr
