About the Department

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees.

FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. The Position

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, & lifecycle management of selected infrastructure systems & platforms.

Relationships

Reports to Manager, IT Systems.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluate existing supported systems & designing proposed systems to ensure lifecycle management of those systems
  • Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of infrastructure systems meets local & regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring systems & responding to IT incidents
  • Participate in investigations & responses to IT Security & Support incidents
  • Ensure security patches are deployed according to patching procedures & manufacturing recommendations
  • Participate in Risk assessments & provide analysis of supported systems for performance & capacity
  • Plan, prepare, test & execute backup & recovery procedures for supported servers
  • Responsible for backups & annually testing the Disaster Recovery Plan for supported systems
  • Provides mentoring & technical guidance to other ITS personnel
  • Provides input for IT Infrastructure Processes & Procedures
  • Resource on site projects & works with external infrastructure resources on projects
  • Manage small department projects & support other business unit projects
  • Collaborate with System Managers, Senior engineers, & IT Security for new systems or updates to existing systems
  • Serve as SME during corporate & external agency audits
  • Support & practice IT Security
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive data
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties Provide ad-hoc production support & after-hours support to the site
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field with minimum 5 yr. related experience or 10 years direct experience required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, Networking principles, & concepts of IT Security required
  • Experience in environments with more than 300 servers & 2000 workstations required
  • Experience in System Monitoring Tools, Domain Services, Backup Solutions, Deployment of Virtualized Servers, Patch Management, & IT Security required
  • Certification in an IT System Administration/Engineer discipline (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), etc.) required
  • Strong technical background in IT Infrastructure systems & networking required
  • Experience of using System Monitoring Tools, Domain Services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), Virtualization Platforms & deployment of servers, Backup Solutions & Disaster Recovery Processes, System Patch Deployment Technologies, Communication Flows & Firewalls, IT Security Controls such as Application Whitelisting/Anti-virus, & network monitoring & packet analysis tools required
  • Maintaining an inventory of installed software/hardware & managing software licensing required
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, documenting, & resolving infrastructure & business system hardware, software & networking incidents required
  • Configuring, optimizing, & monitoring operating system software & servers required
  • Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT infrastructure systems required
  • General understanding & practices ITIL framework (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset Management, Release Management, Service Level Management, etc) required
  • Operate infrastructure systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems required
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation & system testing in accordance with federal, corporate, & local requirements required
  • Follow all IT infrastructure policies & procedures for qualifying, managing, & retiring IT Infrastructure Systems required
  • Adhere to the Operation & Maintenance Procedures & IT Disaster Recovery Plans for supported systems required
  • Participate in security audits, risk assessments, & analysis required
  • Adhere to strategic IT solution strategies required
  • Experience with Systematic Problem Solving (Ability to troubleshoot, resolve, & document IT infrastructure incidents) required
  • Knowledge of project management & the development life cycle required
  • Perform project implementation tasks, including system assessments, market surveys, design specification development, system implementation & training for various information technology while using established procedures required
  • Assure all system documentation is up-to-date prior to rollout & compliant with requirements required
  • Establish & operate within IT infrastructure cost center & project budgets required
  • Demonstrates good written & oral communication skills required
  • Develops & maintains strong internal relationships required
  • Perform other duties as assigned required
