JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIESA Systems Engineer II performs a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, design, development, manufacturing, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems.Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:Performs Systems Engineering functions for Special Projects team to include: systems integration, technical planning, systems operations and maintenance, acquisition and supply, lifecycle analysis, risk management.Develops and modifies JT4 systems engineering processes to support Special ProjectsCoordinates with other JT4 organizations performing Special Projects operations to ensure consistency in systems engineering processes across the domain.Develops functional acceptance and operational acceptance test plans ensuring systems operational status, systems safety and systems security compliance.Supports Special Projects lead with requirements development.Coordinates with Special Projects and operations team members to configure and operate complex SATCOM equipment in threat/target representative range environments.Independently perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlines.Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and support requirements.Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.Direct interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities.Acts as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specificationsConduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendation.Perform other job-related duties, as required.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSUnderstanding of Model Based Systems Engineering principles and knowledge of SysML, Cameo, and Rhapsody tools.Familiarity with common coding languages and methodologies; C++, Python and Java.REQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCEA Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and two years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering are required for this position. Qualified candidates must be eligible for a government TS/SCI clearance.In addition, a Systems Engineer II must possess the following qualifications:Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principlesKnowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty areaWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering toolsAbility to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and softwareExcellent communication and analytical skillsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlinesActive and current Security + certificationSALARYThe expected salary range for this position is $75K to $110K annually.Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
