Job Title: Propulsion Test Engineer
Location: Kennedy Space Center, FL
Shifts: 1st shift is the baseline schedule (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM). During test operations, 2nd and 3rd shift coverage may be required for the duration of the testing effort.
Pay Rate: $85 per hour
Duration: 12 Month Contract


Position Overview:
Seeking experienced Propulsion Test Engineers to support spacecraft propulsion testing and verification activities at Kennedy Space Center. This role involves hands-on execution and leadership in testing hypergolic propellant systems, including leak checks, functional tests, and procedure development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed test procedures for spacecraft propulsion systems.

  • Perform hypergolic propellant servicing and support propellant system operations.

  • Conduct leak testing and functional testing of spacecraft fluid systems.

  • Execute component removal, replacement, and re-testing on hypergol-contaminated systems.

  • Operate high-pressure pneumatic equipment for pressurizing flight hardware.

  • Lead technicians, QA staff, and fellow engineers in coordinated test operations.

  • Troubleshoot and document non-conformances related to ground support and flight systems.

  • Support off-shift operations, including evenings and weekends as required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in spacecraft propulsion-related fluids test engineering.

  • Demonstrated experience with hypergolic propellant handling and operations.

  • Experience with spacecraft fluid system leak testing and procedure development.

  • Hands-on experience with high-pressure pneumatic systems.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional test teams.

  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

  • Willingness to work overtime and support 2nd/3rd shifts as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current NDT (Non-Destructive Test) Leak Test certification.

  • Current SCAPE (Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble) or SAR (Supplied Air Respirator) certification.
