Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Systems Controls Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate with expertise in automotive systems engineering, cloud analytics, and prognostics feature development.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Systems Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop cloud-connected prognostics and diagnostics solutions using MBSE methodologies, SysML, and tools such as MagicDraw.

  • Create, model, and validate prognostic algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and generate production-ready C code for vehicle applications.

  • Define system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and data flows across vehicle sensors, gateways, cloud platforms, and connected services.

  • Analyze vehicle telemetry and sensor data using SQL and cloud-based platforms to support prognostic feature development and performance optimization.

  • Perform system safety, reliability, and cybersecurity assessments, including DFMEA, FMEDA, ISO 26262, and ISO 21434 compliance activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate, test, troubleshoot, and deploy prognostic features while driving quality improvements through data-driven insights and customer-focused outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in automotive engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; PhD preferred.

  • 5+ years of automotive engineering, systems engineering, data analytics, or prognostics development experience.

  • Strong expertise in MATLAB/Simulink modeling, C code generation, MBSE methodologies (SysML/MagicDraw), and vehicle architecture for diagnostics and prognostics feature development.

  • Experience with connected vehicle data analytics, cloud platforms (GCP), automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and system safety processes including DFMEA, FMEDA, and ISO 26262 compliance.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
