Compensation $ per hour depends on experience, license and internal equity. Let us know what your expectations are. This range reflects Carestreams good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidates experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary The Systems Control Technician is responsible for the reliability, repair, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation devices in the plant, including PLCs, motors, and control systems. This position will require flexibility in performing both investigative / troubleshooting tasks on PLCs and automated systems primarily on the manufacturing floor while also implementing preventive, and predictive maintenance to eliminate special cause variation and optimize plant efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ability to analyze electrical, mechanical, and process controls issues to identify root cause, implement corrective action, and improve efficiency.
  • An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes: motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems.
  • Troubleshoot utilizing information from various PLC platforms, VFDs and motion control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and install electrical control circuits based on electrical schematics.
  • Commitment to working safely. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime and adjust work schedules to accommodate shutdown and other business needs, including working nights, weekends, and off-shifts.
  • Create, maintain, and document Preventative Maintenance procedures and processes.

Required Skills & Education

  • Journeyman or LME Oregon Electrical license
  • An equivalent combination of education, out of state certification, and related work experience will also be considered.
  • Must be able to work 12.25-hour shifts. 6:45am-7pm or 6:45pm-7 am including holidays if scheduled. (Three days one week, four days the next week / stays on a two week rotation)

Desired Skills

  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting skills. Demonstrated ability to use trend data and process test equipment.
  • AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent degree.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently: high initiative, self-directed and be results oriented.
  • Skills in teamwork and communication including leadership, problem solving, giving, and receiving feedback.
