Job Title: Systems and Instructional Support Specialist
Location: The Children's Institute Squirrel Hill Campus, 1405 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full Time, Onsite
The Systems and Instructional Support Specialist identifies new technology for integration within the school and is responsible for data collection documents, software programs/support, and policies and procedures including management of Day School SharePoint sites, IEPWriter, Skyward, Act 48 and program evaluation. This individual develops in-service trainings and works with Day School staff members and CI support departments such as Information Systems as an integral part of a professional team to create and ensure efficiencies in The Day School.
Responsibilities
- Conducts staff surveys and develops questionnaires, evaluates data collected, prepares reports and disseminates results to TDS Administrators in order to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, staff needs, etc.
- Investigates and resolves user problems with systems used by TDS (i.e., IEPWriter, Skyward, SchoolMessenger, MS Office/Outlook, curriculum programs, etc.)
- Maintains TDS SharePoint Team Sites, IEPWriter dictionaries, student information systems, and custom forms or programs.
- Maintains software and service subscriptions and manages user licensing.
- Develops and delivers training materials, and professional development opportunities related to instructional technology for Day School faculty and staff. Examples include but are not limited to: IEPWriter, Skyward SIS, SchoolMessenger Alerting, MS Office/Outlook/SharePoint, IEP Goals and Objectives, Progress Reports, computerized data collection sheets, Summary Reports for graduates, etc.
- Provides technical support to Day School Administration.
- Participates in processes needed for audits and accreditation reviews.
- Assists the CI Information Systems team and Day School end-users with device support and instructional activities.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least two years of successful experience using technology and information systems in an educational setting is required.
- Experience supporting software and hardware in a networked environment (in an educational setting) and training staff is preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required or obtained upon hire.
- Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
